PEATS Traditional Skills Residency - Romania
A residency that focuses on learning traditional skills of the country and sustainable methods of working as well as encouraging close collaboration with other participants and local communities.

A collaborative project to paint a mural in a restored traditional Romanian building set with museum grounds based the traditional textiles within the museum. We made lime paints using locally found mineral pigments, each drawing up designs inspired by the textile museum and then worked together to collate them and paint the piece on the wall inside the restored building. A project that received a lot of local attention and challenged us to work collaboratively in very close quarters.

Co-collaborators - Su Nicholls, Natasha Lorraine Hopman, Mariette James, Saima H Rahman

Collaboratively made shepherd inspired fashion outfits made using the traditional and sustainable skills that we were taught with the guidance of some ladies from The Wool Clip.
